A SYSTEMIC REVIEW ON THE ROLE OF AI IN TPACK'S IMPLEMENTATION

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is increasingly influencing the world of education. Particularly in how teachers integrate technology, teaching methods, and lesson content. This study aims to understand how AI supports the implementation of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework in teacher education. This study was conducted by systematically reviewing 15 studies published between 2023 and 2025 from various reputable journals. The results indicate that AI helps teachers design more engaging and adaptive learning, for example through the use of chatbots, generative AI, and automated learning systems. However, not all teachers are able to utilize AI effectively in their learning. This condition can happen  because a lack of training, institutional support, and an understanding of the ethics of technology use. This study emphasizes the importance of developing AI-based TPACK (AI-TPACK), which emphasizes not only technological capabilities but also responsibility and discretion in its use. These findings can serve as a basis for educational institutions to create more relevant teacher training in the digital age.
